Unjustifiably failed exam! How can I mount a successful appeal ?
Anyone who discovers an obvious error in their examination assessment can usually have this corrected with a simple request. However, if it is a more complicated formal error, an appeal is inevitable. The same applies if there is disagreement about the factual assessment.
From a formal point of view, an administrative commission, usually called an examination commission, decides who has passed or failed an examination.
Moreover, an examination challenge is possible if the result of the examination is based on discrimination and therefore violates the principle of equal treatment. This may be the case, for example, if the assessment or the examination procedure was discriminatory on the basis of gender, religion, ethnic origin or other protected characteristics.
